The biggest thing preventing
folks from taking time off?

Money.

For the majority of people, time off feels like a luxury. Especially for those who don’t receive pay for it.

However, rest and care are essential for physical and mental health, maintaining healthy relationships, taking care of our communities, and, yes, even productivity and fulfillment.

Time off is essential.

Time scarcity and burnout are intentional systemic failures.

While time is not money, it is our life force, our society is dominated by money. And realistically money does prevent us from doing what we want, being who we want to be, and living the life we want.

What can we do?

Mutual Aid (also known as the radical act of caring for each other while working to change the world -Dean Spade).

So we created…

MutualPTO. A grassroots mutual aid organization working to make rest more accessible to those most impacted by a broken system.

Key elements of the current vision of MutualPTO:

1. Receive money from folks who believe in and are able to support the modern care and labor movements.

2. Redistribute to low-income, service industry workers, and self-employed folks who do not receive PTO from an employer.

3. Offer free resources to support both parties around resting better.

This is our liberation from the modern-day
labor force, relentless productivity, and burnout.

Every day you rest, you change the world.
